Pre-session Activities:

Sunday Spirit teacher. Within the classroom, a game or activity
that fosters cooperation or reflection will be waiting for them. All pre-session
activities are designed to be age-appropriate and easy to join in
on.
Sacred
Circle Time
During
this sharing time, children bring a stone with their name and talent
on it to place on the sacred circle (symbolically “bringing
themselves to the circle”), introduce themselves, learn the
affirmation of the day, review and sign heart agreements, have a
snack, sing songs, and listen to the lesson for the day.
The
Story
Depending on the curriculum, students are either read a Bible story
or a spiritually based contemporary children's story dealing with
the lesson of the day.
At times, a physical representation of the topic will be used
instead of a story.
Depending on the curriculum, they are
either read a Bible story or a spiritually based contemporary
children's story dealing with the lesson of the day.
Personalization and Discussion
This is the time for the students to actively explore the new ideas
and to make them their own. During this time, the students are
guided to see how these ideas have meaning in their own lives and to
practice using them.
Guided Meditation
This is the time when students quiet their minds and are treated to
a guided meditation that facilitates a clear connection with Spirit
and the answers that dwell within them.
Creative Expression
This is a time to have the students uniquely apply the concepts in a
lesson-based art project, game, activity, skit or other type of
expression.
